Anna Diessner

Anna is a German multidisciplinary designer and creative practitioner based in London. She recently completed her MA in Interaction Design at UAL where she developed projects that engage audiences in thought-provoking ways while exploring the intersection of technology, design and society through installations, artefacts and exhibitions.

Her work has been exhibited at Ars Electronica and Science Gallery London, reflecting her interest in speculative design as well as creating digital and physical experiences to challenge perceptions.

Digital Remains is a speculative burial method in which the digital essence of the deceased is preserved by using synthetic DNA as a data storage medium. It goes beyond traditional memorials by capturing memories, personal stories, and digital traces in a tangible artefact. Through encoding, loved ones can access a comprehensive legacy that allows future generations to explore the identity of the deceased.

The fusion of biology and technology blurs the boundary between natural and artificial, inviting reflection on the meaning of memory, identity, and existence beyond mortality.
