Baker Glassworks

South African designer, Jacqueline Baker, explores the multiplicity of stained glass and how light and colour can transform our daily living spaces.
Taking from her background in Fine Art and Landscape Architecture she creates handcrafted pieces that transform space while maintaining the tradition of stained glass craftsmanship.
Inspired by modern form, she merges the nostalgia of coloured glass into the everyday, inviting the viewer to explore the relationship between materiality, colour, form and emotion through each design.

Baker Glassworks is a contemporary stained glass studio founded in 2023 by South African designer Jacqueline Baker. Rooted in the rich tradition of stained glass craftsmanship, the studio reinterprets this timeless medium through a modern lens, merging meticulous handcrafting techniques with bold architectural compositions.

Baker Glassworks began as a creative outlet in 2022, born from Jacqueline Baker’s deep appreciation for the intersection of art, space, and design. With a background in fine art and landscape architecture, she developed a keen understanding of materiality, form, and the built environment. After exploring traditional stained glass techniques, she was drawn to the medium’s ability to manipulate light and atmosphere, leading her to establish Baker Glassworks as a contemporary expression of this craft.

Baker Glassworks is driven by the belief that stained glass can be more than a decorative element—it can shape the way we experience our surroundings. Through considered craftsmanship and contemporary vision, each creation is an invitation to explore the relationship between light, materiality, and emotion in modern interiors.
