Sterling Silver Ring with Purple Crystalised Bismuth

Bismuth is a rare low-melting point metal. It is commonly used in fire detection systems, electrical fuses, stomach medicines, cosmetics, pigments and bullets. But Sara Chyan used it in making jewellery and art. The oxidation of bismuth is spectacular, where natural crystalised forms and colours can tell us the temperature. One colour reflects the different temperatures the material has burned at, making each piece exceptional.
